You took the Train To Busan…now, do you dare enter the Colony? From director Yeon Sang-Ho, Colony is coming to UK cinemas. Watch the trailer here.
Enter at your own risk as STUDIOCANAL invites you to a biotech conference gone horribly wrong in Yeon Sang-ho’s tense, timely, and terrifying zombie horror thriller COLONY, released in UK and Irish cinemas on 28 August 2026.
From pioneering director Sang-ho, whose Train to Busan was a cult horror sensation, COLONY is an equally thrilling mass zombie outbreak rollercoaster ride. It follows a group of survivors trapped inside a high-rise building. Moreover, after a rapidly mutating virus transforms those infected, a new unpredictable and seemingly unstoppable lifeform emerges.
Praised by Screen Daily for its “carefully choreographed action sequences unfolding at a breakneck pace, saturated by lashings of gore,” COLONY grabs your attention with its frenetic energy. This graphically gruesome and visually stunning tower block terror trip demands to be experienced on the big screen. Miss it at your peril!
THE PREMISE
In downtown Seoul, a professor attends a biotech conference, but chaos erupts when a rapidly mutating virus escapes. As the outbreak spreads and the infected begin to transform, authorities seal off the entire facility. Therefore, the survivors, barricaded inside the building, must contend with the mounting and unpredictable threat.
SHOWING AT THIS YEAR’S FRIGHTFEST LONDON
The film, which received its World Premiere at the 79th Cannes Film Festival, will be showing at this year’s FrightFest London. In addition, there will be retrospective screenings of the director’s previous films, Seoul Station and Train to Busan. These films celebrate their 10th anniversary this year.
