Find out what films are topping The Official Film Chart this week and what makes them popular among viewers.
Welcome to The Official Film Chart.
THE BEST-SELLING MOVIES ON UK HOME ENTERTAINMENT
This week sees one new entry and one re-entry into the chart placings. But what are these new and returning titles, and where have they entered the chart? It would be BAD not to find out.

(1) MICHAEL
Michael continues its impressive Official Film Chart run, spending a fifth non-consecutive week at the summit. The biographical drama charts the life and career of Michael Jackson, tracing his journey from his early days performing with the Jackson 5 through to his rise as one of the biggest pop stars in the world. The film explores both the scale of his musical success and the personal story behind his global fame.
After returning to Number 1 last week following an earlier three-week reign across June and early July, Michael now adds another week to its growing tally at the top.

(2) PROJECT HAIL MARY
Making an impressive return at Number 2 is Project Hail Mary, which rockets straight back into the Top 10. Starring Ryan Gosling as science teacher Ryland Grace, the sci-fi adventure follows Grace as he wakes aboard a spacecraft light-years from Earth with no memory of who he is or how he got there, and soon discovers that the fate of humanity rests on his mission.

(3) SCARY MOVIE
Last week’s highest new entry, Scary Movie (2026), slips one place this week. The latest installment in the cult comedy-horror franchise reunites Cindy, Brenda, Shorty, and Ray 26 years after their original encounter with a masked killer, only for the group to find themselves dragged back into another round of murderous mayhem.

(4) MINIONS & MONSTERS
There’s more animated chaos at Number 4, as Minions & Monsters lands this week’s highest new entry. The latest installment in the Minions series takes the mischievous yellow crew to 1920s Hollywood, where their attempts to make their very own monster movie inevitably descend into mayhem.

(5) OBSESSION
Obsession holds firm at Number 5 for another week.

(6) DISCLOSURE DAY
Disclosure Day drops two places to Number 6.

(7) THE SUPER MARIO GALAXY MOVIE
Former chart-topper The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is also a non-mover at Number 7.

(8) STAR WARS: THE MANDALORIAN AND GROGU
Star Wars: The Mandalorian & Grogu slips two places to Number 8.

(9) THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA 2
The Devil Wears Prada 2 falls six places this week to Number 9.

(10) SUPERGIRL
Supergirl drops two places to round out the countdown at Number 10.

UNTIL NEXT WEEK
And that is all there is for this week. Next week, the chart should lift the lid on the toy box as Toy Story 5 is now available to buy or rent on PVOD. Can Woody and his friends manage to take down Michael at the top of the chart? What do you think? However, there’s only one way to find out, and to be sure. So, until next time…
Whatever you decide, whatever you buy, stay safe, be kind, look after each other, and happy viewing!!
