Some thirty-six years after the original film, we still can’t outrun the thunder. Tom Cruise has announced that Days Of Thunder 2 is coming to theaters on June 2nd, 2028, from Paramount Pictures. He announced the long-awaited sequel at the Daytona International Speedway.
Tom Cruise will return as NASCAR driver Cole Trickle and will be joined by Anne Hathaway, who is set to play a team owner and engineer in the upcoming follow-up to the groundbreaking 1990 film that revolutionized cinema. Cruise will star and produce alongside Jerry Bruckheimer and Tommy Harper. Jonathan Levine will direct the film based on a script by Will Staples. The production team plans to film it for IMAX and showcase it in premium formats like Dolby Cinema and 4DX.
