The Global Screening Tour For World Without Cows Is Announced Alongside The Compelling New Trailer

Five Years. 22 countries. One question: Could we live in a World Without Cows? The global screening tour is announced. This comes alongside the compelling trailer.
Today, the World Without Cows filmmaking team and Studio 410 released the official trailer for the award-winning documentary. They also announced its fall global theatrical screening tour. The tour kicks off with global premiere events in Dublin (September 9), London (September 10), Los Angeles (September 16), and New York (September 18). Directors Michelle Michael and Brandon Whitworth will be in attendance. Furthermore, executive producer Dr. Mark Lyons will attend.
THE PREMISE
Cows play a crucial role in addressing some of the biggest questions facing humanity, such as how we can feed a growing population. Cows also help us protect our planet and ensure everyone has access to adequate nutrition. Against a backdrop of climate change, food insecurity, and rising protein demand, World Without Cows challenges what we think we know about cows, climate, health, and our planet’s future. The film takes viewers on a journey spanning 22 countries and five continents. Through this global journey, it explores the complex relationship between food, sustainability, biodiversity, and the people whose lives hang in the balance.
Award-winning journalists Michelle Michael and Brandon Whitworth spent five years filming in more than 40 locations. They spoke with farmers, ranchers, scientists, and environmental experts. What they found was far from simple: when it comes to cows, it’s not black-and-white.
AFTER THE PREMIERES
Following the premieres, the campaign expands into a theatrical tour of select cities throughout North America beginning this October. The campaign will include a large-scale journey through America’s heartland. International screening events will take place in South America, Europe, Africa, and Asia. World Without Cows will return to many of the filming locations, offering audiences the chance to engage with the material. Each stop will feature the film alongside panel discussions. This will allow for interactive conversations. Making this theatrical release a town hall, gathering farmers and ranchers, scientists and students, educators, environmental voices, food and agriculture communities, and moviegoers in the same room to watch and talk together. Through a partnership with Gathr, any community can also request a screening. This means communities can bring the film to their own local cinema. With the film available in more than 25 languages, the tour is built to travel.

“The journey showed us that there is no single simple solution to the world’s greatest challenges,” said filmmaker Michelle Michael. “I don’t think the world wants simple answers. It wants a better understanding of how our global food systems work, and that need has never been more urgent than it is right now.”
“Our hope is that World Without Cows creates a new baseline for how people engage in hard conversations,” said filmmaker Brandon Whitworth. “The film wasn’t made to be an echo chamber. It was made to bring people together to ask difficult questions about complex issues and be open to different perspectives.”
“Cows have become a symbol in the climate conversation, but the reality is far more complex. By exploring this issue from many angles and in such diverse geographies, the filmmakers give us a much more insightful and hopeful outlook than we might have expected,” said Executive Producer Mark Lyons.
World Without Cows is directed by Michelle Michael and Brandon Whitworth and written by Michelle Michael, Brandon Whitworth and Josh Tickell, with Mark Lyons serving as executive producer. The film is produced in association with Studio 410 by Michelle Michael, Brandon Whitworth, Susanna Elliott, Alan Henthorne and Josh Tickell, edited by Talain Blanchon, with music composed by Nathan Horst.
Additional tour cities, international screening events, participating panelists, and special screenings will be announced in the coming weeks.
