The Buzz is Back. Jason Statham is ready to take on The Beekeepers in the first trailer for Amazon MGM’s The Beekeeper 2.
After the first poster gave us a taste of what to expect from Jason Statham’s The Beekeeper 2, the first trailer has finally emerged from the hive—and it looks like the bees are ready to sting again! The long-awaited sequel sees Statham’s Adam Clay return to the fight, taking on the ruthless Beekeeper fraternity in another high-octane revenge mission. This time, he has Jeremy Irons’ Wallace Westwyld in his corner and a James Bond-esque supercar at his disposal. With director Timo Tjahjanto taking over the reins from David Ayer and Amazon MGM Studios providing the financial muscle, all the ingredients are in place for one hell of an action-packed sequel!
But can The Beekeeper 2 build on the success of its predecessor and deliver the bruising blockbuster fans are buzzing for? Or will it turn out to be all honey and no bite? There’s only one way to find out! Check out the explosive new trailer below and get ready to relight your fire!
SYNOPSIS
Jason Statham is back as Adam Clay in The Beekeeper 2. Pulled back into the fight when the Beekeeper organization goes rogue and sets its sights on controlling the government, Clay must take on the very group that made him.
CAST & CREATIVES
Director Timo Tjahjanto has assembled an impressive ensemble to bring The Beekeeper 2 to life. Jason Statham returns to lead the charge, joined by Pom Klementieff, Jemma Redgrave, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Adam Copeland, and Bobby Naderi, with Yara Shahidi and Jeremy Irons also starring. With such a formidable cast, the sequel looks ready to deliver another bruising dose of action!
There’s plenty of talent working behind the scenes, too. Statham, Chris Long, and Kurt Wimmer serve as producers, while Jonathan Glickman, Thom Zadra, Alexandra Loewy, Rachael Cole, and David Ayer serve as executive producers. Anthony M. Scott, Spencer Ela, and Asa Sims round out the production team as co-producers.
Tjahjanto directs The Beekeeper 2 from a screenplay written by Kurt Wimmer and Zak Penn. With the creative team gearing up for another explosive outing, it looks like Statham’s beekeeper has plenty more stings left in his arsenal!
RELEASE
Okay, I’m sold! The Beekeeper 2 looks set to take the winning formula of its predecessor, inject it with the DNA of the James Bond and John Wick franchises, and crank the mayhem all the way up to eleven. Whether these new ingredients will compromise the originality of the story remains to be seen, but if this first trailer is anything to go by, we’re in for one kick-ass action extravaganza to kickstart the new year. Bring on the bullets, the bruises, and the buzzing bees!
