After exploring the pyramids, Bradley Walsh: Out Of This World sees the entertainer investigate the weird and unexplainable. Watch the teaser trailer for the Sky History series here.
Bradley Walsh is heading Out of This World in his second series for Sky HISTORY. After exploring pyramids last year, he turns his attention to the unexplainable and downright weird, investigating some of the greatest mysteries in our skies, on our land and beneath our seas. Bradley Walsh: Out of This World, all episodes available Tuesday 3rd November on Sky HISTORY and HISTORY Play. Bradley Walsh: Out of This World is co-produced by Studio Crook and Motion Entertainment, a WPP Media Company.
With his trademark humor, curiosity and willingness to ask the questions the rest of us are thinking, Bradley travels across Britain, Europe and America in search of answers to one enormous question: are we really alone?
EPISODES ONE AND TWO
Bradley’s journey begins with UFOs, as he delves into Britain’s declassified Ministry of Defense files, starting with a conversation with Nick Pope (this was Nick’s last filmed interview before he passed away in April of this year). Then to the infamous Rendlesham Forest incident with firsthand testimony from Lieutenant Colonel Charles ‘Chuck’ Halt before traveling to Arizona to meet Dr Lynne Kitei, a witness to the extraordinary Phoenix Lights. In his search for extraterrestrial life, Bradley also speaks with leading scientists and experts, including Dr Sarah Cruddas and Rob Sparks.
In episode two, Bradley enters the mysterious world of military UAP encounters and government disclosure. Hearing first-hand testimony from former US military personnel, Lieutenant Commander Alex Dietrich and Jeffrey Nuccetelli, who witnessed the extraordinary ‘Tic Tac’ object. As pressure grows on the US government to reveal what it knows, Bradley explores newly released files and asks whether decades of secrecy have hidden something extraordinary. Bradley then travels to Sweden – home to the world’s largest UFO archive – to explore stranger objects reported beneath the waves. Investigating the bizarre ‘Ghost Rockets’ of the 1940s and the mysterious Baltic Sea Anomaly discovered resting on the seabed of the Gulf of Bothnia.

EPISODES THREE AND FOUR
In episode three, he tackles one of history’s most enduring legends: Atlantis. Following clues left by Plato almost 2,400 years ago, and guided by historian Tony McMahon, Bradley journeys from Gibraltar to Cadiz in southern Spain, where explorer and researcher Michael Donnellan believes remarkable evidence may lie beneath the waves. Bradley learns of ancient structures hidden along the shoreline before heading out to sea to hear about submerged walls, columns and ruins discovered on the seabed. From ancient legends to underwater discoveries, Bradley follows the clues in search of a civilization lost for thousands of years. Could he finally have found the lost island of Atlantis?
In the final episode, back in Britain, Bradley gains exclusive access to Stonehenge to examine who built it, how its enormous stones were transported across Britain, and why its remarkable alignments with the sun and moon still fascinate us 5,000 years later. But Wiltshire isn’t just home to Stonehenge. It’s also home to the country’s most crop-circle formations and a hotspot for UFO sightings. Bradley heads deep into crop-circle country, meeting eyewitnesses, researchers, and the secretive human makers behind some of these extraordinary formations. He even tries making one himself as he throws himself into the weird and wacky world of crop circles.
From UFOs and USOs to Atlantis, Stonehenge and crop circles, Bradley approaches the unexplained with an open mind, a healthy dose of skepticism and plenty of laughs. It’s a global adventure like no other.

BRADLEY WALSH DISCUSSES THE SERIES
Can you tell us a little bit about what ‘Out of this World’ is all about?
The idea came about when I was chatting with the team at Studio Crook who had made Egypt’s Cosmic Code. We were discussing doing a follow up and what that might be. There was a lot of back-and-forth and ultimately it boiled down to wanting to meet people and talk with them. I’d never seen a UFO or anomaly like that. But I’d love to. So I started to look into it and decided right we need to make a show about this. Since post-war, you’ve seen snippets of articles in newspapers across the decades of these sightings but not everyone has condensed it all and put it all together. People are quite happy with going, “oh, that happened in the 1950s, that happened in 1970” etc. But somehow, there’s maybe a correlation between them, and not everyone has worked that out, and not everyone has brought that under the public gaze, and I wondered why.
I couldn’t understand why, with the latest papers from the United States government and papers from our own government, and really credible people that had seen unexplained sightings. We live in an age where we’re more interested in what pair of shoes one of the Kardashian’s wore than what a Lieutenant Colonel is saying that they saw.
Do I believe all of this stuff? As with Egypt’s Cosmic Code, my job is to sit on the fence and be in a way the jury for the people. To speak to these people and listen to them. I haven’t seen anything, and seeing is believing. And I have to tell you, some of what I’ve seen, witnessed and the people that I’ve spoken to is incredible.
I’ve always said this, when you’re looking at someone and they’re speaking to you you can usually tell instinctively if they’re telling the truth. And if these people – who I believe are very credible – aren’t then they deserve a double Oscar.
Has your belief changed throughout the filming of this show?
I’m still on the fence because I haven’t seen something like a UFO myself in the flesh. But there’s a big caveat to that. If you talk to Lieutenant Colonel Charles ‘Chuck’ Halt, who was there at the Rendlesham Forest incident, you believe 100% that he’s telling you the truth. That he saw what he saw. I’ve read the transcript and I’ve listened to the radio transmission from that day and it’s extraordinary. Really extraordinary. Then you speak with Lieutenant Commander Alex Dietrich, who was a pilot and said the she saw what is referred to as the Tic Tac UFO. Speaking with her, I don’t think that there’s any question that she didn’t see what she says that she saw. It’s her first hand experience so I’ve got no option but to believe what they’re saying. Her commanding officer, David Fravor spoke in front of Congress about it. So I can only tell you what they’ve told me, and I honestly 100% believe them and what they’re saying.
Was there one place in particular you loved visiting?
So we went to Phoenix in Arizona because there’s a very famous sighting called the Phoenix Lights, and we went to see a former doctor, Dr Lynne Kitei, who gave up her career as a doctor after seeing these lights sitting on the side of a mountain overlooking Phoenix Airfield, and couldn’t understand what was going on. She gave up her career to follow this anomaly. She was very passionate about what she saw. Apparently what she saw was the size of a football field, hovering around the airfield. She sees it and as do apparently thousands of other people. The government pooh-poohed it until someone on the ground radioed to the tower saying that they weren’t able to take-off. You know who that person was that radioed in? It was Kurt Russell, saying that he couldn’t take off or get his plane off the ground. I don’t know what it was for sure but I believe that these people saw what they said they did.
What drew you to the mystery of Stonehenge and Atlantis?
Here’s the interesting thing about Stonehenge. Having done last year’s show on Egypt’s Cosmic Code, Stonehenge was purportedly constructed around about a similar time to the Pyramids. And the subtle difference there is a major difference between the two. The Egyptians are better builders than the Brits. That’s the end of that conversation. That’s it. Bless them. The Brits-they’ve tried hard, but it’s not a pyramid. People ask, were the pyramids built by aliens? No, I don’t think so at all. Stonehenge is still remarkable though. We’re still not sure of how it came to be and of its significance. Some of the stones were thought to have been carried from close to Wales, one of the stones potentially as far as the north of Scotland. It’s believed to be related to the Equinox, something that Egyptians were very interested in too. I think there’s a big rabbit hole of mysteries with Stonehenge, some perhaps true and some perhaps not but it’s the mystery of it all. Now, about Atlantis. I’m on a boat in Gibraltar with an historian, Tony McMahon. He’s telling me all about Gibraltar and the Pillars of Hercules etc and then tells me about the writings of Plato.
Now, at that point, as soon as he mentions the writings of Plato, I’m trying to throw myself overboard and swim for shore because it’s not my thing at all. But he tells me that in Plato’s writing, Atlantis is claimed to be between Gibraltar and the region of Cadiz. The thing is though, people say that Atlantis is anywhere from on top of a mountain in the Philippines to Tasmania to Epping Forest or somewhere daft. However, Tony says to me, “Look, you’ve got to go to Cadiz…”. And there I meet Michael Donnellan, who truly believes that through Plato’s writing they have discovered the location of Atlantis. With divers exploring the site and high-tech cameras imaging the lost city exactly as apparently described in Plato’s writing.
Tell us, what was the most compelling piece of evidence you found?
I think, as I said earlier on, seeing is believing. So if I see sonar, I see radar, and I see pictures, then although it’s a second-hand experience, I’m seeing it. I’m seeing what they’ve seen. This isn’t just what they’re telling me. I would say though that the most compelling evidence for me was seeing the apparent walls of Atlantis. Those actual walls on the sonar, and having the picture of it, because when you get down there on the seabed, you may as well be visually impaired because you can’t see down there. The water’s not very clear, of course, and you literally have to go as close to my hand and take a photograph of it. You’re practically touching it. It’s just extraordinary. I didn’t expect this journey to be the journey it was.
What were your expectations from the journey of making the show?
I thought I’d go and speak to people and go, “oh yeah, that’s interesting”. But I didn’t expect to be blown away. I really didn’t expect that. I’m pretty on the fence about a lot of this stuff. But when you speak to people who are convinced they are telling the truth about what they’ve seen then you have to go with them and hear them out. I’m sitting with Chuck Halt in his front room, just outside of Washington. Chuck – a Lieutenant Colonel in the US Air Forces – was the man who led a team into Rendlesham Forest. These policemen have seen something in the woods. They believe it’s a plane crash. It’s not. It’s something else. Chuck and his team are called out to investigate. He goes out with his walkie-talkie and his Geiger Counter.
He’s now taking Geiger Counter readings and they’re off the chart. Radiation off the chart. But note from the trees or anything else, just this circular area that is off the chart. So I’m sitting chatting to him, and under his chair, he’s got a plastic carrier bag. He picks it up, and I think, “what’s he doing? He’s got his sandwiches. What’s he got in there?” Anyway, he unwraps the bag, and he unravels what is inside it to reveal a disc, a Plaster of Paris dome-shaped. And I say, “What’s that?”. He says, “That’s the footprint. That’s the footprint from one of the tripods of the craft. That’s it. I made that Plaster of Paris cast myself.” Now that’s a Lieutenant Colonel in the US Air Force in charge of the regulation.
He’s a top boss. I don’t know if it’s real but I also think that he’s not going to lie and why would he make it up. You have to go on that journey and hear people out, go with what they’re saying to find the truth.
What was it like to meet Nick Pope before his passing?
He’s one of my heroes. I’ve always wanted to speak to him. I’d watched and read a lot of his work. I knew of course about his time with the Ministry of Defence. Almost as their version of Mulder and Scully from the X-Files. I was due to fly to Washington and meet him but sadly he became very very ill but we managed to do a Zoom call with him before I left for the United States. And to be honest with you, I was really proud and privileged to have spoken to him. As I understand it was his last conversation that he’d had about his specialist subject. So to have him included in the show, I just thought it was great. I really appreciated him doing it and chatting to me because it’s something I’d always wanted to do.
Tell us what you’ve learnt about crop circles, are they all fake?
Are they all fake? I’ve spoken to a lot of people about this and the orbs which purportedly create these crop circles. I’ve seen footage too of these which is purported to be real and it looks real to me. But I’ve also spoken to circle-makers who are making what people dub “agricultural Banksys” and it’s extraordinary listening to how they make them. So I’ve seen firsthand how they are made. They’re incredibly intricate and clever but I believe that they’re man made. I’ve seen it done and seeing is believing.
Do you believe it’s better to have the mystery remain or to solve it?
I think it’s probably better to have the mystery and let it roll on. I think that’s great because the danger is all of a sudden you find Atlantis, you announce that you found it. That tiny place, wherever it is, off the coast of Spain, all of a sudden becomes some great attraction or commercialised theme park of sorts. It opens up a Pandora’s Box of sorts where inevitably people will look to monetise things and the mystery is lost. I think we need a little mystery so I’d like to keep it going. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my journey. Am I convinced by all of this? Still no. Why? Because I haven’t actually seen anything with my own eyes. But I’m erring on the side of perhaps these things have happened because who I’ve spoken with have all been so earnest about it.
What would you say to any sceptics out there?
I can only take the words of other people until I actually see something for myself. But I would say, just have an open mind. Something, somewhere, somehow may come along that will jog you into one direction or the other.
Are we alone in the universe?
Oh no, we just can’t be! Our solar system is around two to three light-years across. And our galaxy spans about 100,000 light-years across. There’s 200 billion to 2 trillion galaxies in the universe. There must be something else out there. I don’t believe it, I can’t believe for one second that we’re alone. That’d be very churlish, I would imagine, very naive and very arrogant.
What would you say if you met an alien?
Firstly, what’s your favourite biscuit? Mine’s a custard cream. Secondly, can you get rid of VAR? In all seriousness though, I’d want to know what is happening elsewhere. I think about how and what life is like if it exists in the universe. To be honest, I think about that even on earth. There are still potentially places on our planet that are still undiscovered. I mean, there are places still now on this earth of course, we’ve never discovered. There are apparently places in Vietnam and Cambodia that have just still not been found, allegedly talking about tunnels and passages that have led to different worlds. Now, do I believe that? I don’t know but I find it fantastical and that’s exciting having a bit of magic to maybe believe in within our world.
So, what do you want to explore next?
We spend a lot of our time looking up. Why don’t we look down? And what I mean by that is, there’s so much more to see under our oceans and our waters. Who knows what is happening down there! I’d like to see people explore that more. As well as what I’ve already discussed such as folklore stories like the Giants of Kandahar in Afghanistan.
