Force Friday II event announced for worldwide release
Where were you on Force Friday?
The global event is a special day on the calendar of every Star Wars fan because it just so happens to be the all-important day when the new range of merchandise arrives on the store shelves. With the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the toy manufacturer Hasbro gave the fans a completely new experience by devoting an entire day to the unboxing of the new range in merchandise and action figures. They branded it Force Friday, and it was a renowned success that was rejoiced amongst the devoted fan base.
Unfortunately, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story received a far more subdued version of the occasion and was christened Rogue Friday by the fans, a time where we were all encouraged to Go Rogue but the merchandise released was greatly reduced from the abundant levels of its predecessor.
The fans were hoping for something greater for the upcoming Star Wars: The Last Jedi…
And today, the news broke. Star Wars.com have today announced that Force Friday II, an event of similar magnitude to that of The Force Awakens will take place on September 1st 2017. The details surrounding the event are being treated as top secret but we have been promised a day full of innovation and excitement unrivalled in the realm of fandom…and all starting at midnight. This news will undoubtedly send every fan into a delirium, and just to accentuate their excitement…Hasbro have released our first look at the artwork being prepared to adorn the packaging of every single item set to released.
Featuring striking images of a lightsaber-wielding Rey, Poe Dameron, and Finn, the artwork gives us our first taste of the tone the movie is expected to take when it arrives upon the cinema screen on December 15th. The reactions on social media to this artwork have been mixed but one thing is for certain…the excitement and anticipation to Star Wars: The Last Jedi starts here:
