The Predator Trailer Arrives

The greatest alien hunter in movie history is back in Shane Black’s relaunch of the Predator franchise.

After what had felt like an eternity, the plot details for Shane Black’s re-launch of the Predator franchise were finally unveiled at the prestigious CinemaCon event a few weeks past. It was revealed that the greatest alien hunters in Hollywood history were back, bigger and nastier than ever and because of a little self-inflicted genetic manipulation, had evolved themselves into something far more terrifying.

A chilling prospect!

And now, that terror is about to realised thanks to 20th Century Fox. The studio has finally released the long-awaited trailer for the movie which is designed to be a direct sequel to the original two movies whilst serving to rejuvenate the franchise for modern audiences.

Check it out:

Incredible.

The fans of the franchise have been calling for a legitimate sequel to Schwarzenegger’s all time classic for many years, and at long last it appears as if we are about to get one. What is abundantly clear is Shane Black’s interpretation of the character. After starring in the original movie as elite special forces commando Hawkins, Black is the perfect man to lead the charge and with him being in receipt of both writing and directing credits on THE PREDATOR, it is safe to say the franchise had found the perfect custodian.

One minor detraction comes from the score composition. Alan Silvestri’s iconic music has become synonymous with the Predator franchise and despite John Debney composing a noteworthy score for the 2010 sequel Predators, the fans had hoped that the master himself would return to re-launch the franchise. Instead, we can officially confirm that Henry Jackman, composer of Captain America: Civil War and Kong: Skull Island has signed on to score the movie.

We can only hope that the composer brings his A-Game to the project and utilises the best of Silvestri’s iconic music to compliment his original score. Only time will tell, but one thing is certain…this new trailer is more than enough to tantalise the fans and whet our appetites for a fantastic movie come September.

THE PREDATOR arrives in cinemas on September 14th.

The hunt is on!
