A tidal wave of comic book action awaits us this December
Warner Bros. and DC have unleashed the final trailer for James Wan’s highly anticipated Aquaman, giving us our best look yet at the action-packed adventure awaiting us beyond the seven seas. Jason Momoa’s first solo outing as Arthur Curry is widely expected to be one of the biggest comic book adaptations of the year and with the clock ticking down to its December release date, Warner Bros is ramping up its advertising campaign tenfold.
Joining Momoa for his under the sea adventure is Amber Heard as the commanding, effervescent Princess Mera, Nicole Kidman as Queen Atlanna, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko, and Patrick Wilson as Orm/Ocean Master. Screen legend Dolph Lundgren assumes the role of King Nereus, Randall Park stars as Dr Stephen Shin, Djimon Hounsou as The Fisherman King, Star Wars legend Temuera Morrison stars as Thomas Curry, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II brings a commanding presence as the infamous David Kane/Black Manta.
In this incredible trailer, we get to explore more of Arthur Curry’s lineage, delve into the struggle for the Atlantean throne and embrace the prophecy of the one who is destined to unite the seven seas and the world above.
Being a massive fan of the original 1960’s Aquaman cartoon series, I cannot wait to immerse myself in the thrilling rollercoaster ride that Aquaman promises to be. I found Arthur Curry’s involvement in the Justice League movie to be nothing short of a character assassination, but James Wan appears to be turning the tide (pun intended) and restoring the King of Atlantis to prominence.
Aquaman swims into the box office in the UK on December 12th and the US on December 21st.
