J.J Abrams confirms Star Wars: Episode IX has officially completed filming.

And that’s a wrap.

The circle is now complete and the completion of the Skywalker saga is upon us.

It’s official. Star Wars: Episode IX has finished filming. Director J.J Abrams took to social media to confirm the news and uploaded a perfectly apt picture to commemorate such a landmark day. The image from the set features Daisy Ridley’s Rey, John Boyega’s Finn and Oscar Isaac’s Poe Dameron in a fitting embrace which will bring the fact home that this is the end of the road for the Skywalker legacy.

It feels impossible, but today wrapped photography on Episode IX. There is no adequate way to thank this truly magical crew and cast. I’m forever indebted to you all.

Fans have been beside themselves trying to guess the title of what we hope to be the ultimate send-off for the Skywalker saga. Hopefully, this news will mark a step up in the advertising campaign which will see the unveiling of the official title and trailer.

Star Wars: Episode IX completes the saga on December 20, 2019
