Annlyel reveals why Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is her top adventure for our friendly neighbourhood wall-crawler…
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Oh, I heard the excited buss. I saw the movie’s 97% Rotten Tomatoes score and I saw that it was winning awards left and right. Needless to say, I was excited to see the film but I was hoping that it would live up to the hype. In short; it did. I rented this movie and watched it three times in 26 hours because I was that blown away by every aspect of the film. No Spider-Man movie has ever given me as much sheer happiness as this one did and now I think I understand why people love Spider-Man so much. He’s awesome!
Miles Morales is my Spider-Man. I’ve liked Peter Parker–particularly Tom Holland’s version of the character–but I love Miles. His journey is heartening, his origin story is way better than Peter Parker’s, and that suit is AMAZING!
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is not just a cute animated flick for kids. Its story is tame enough for children, realistic enough for teenagers, and contains just enough emotional impact to pluck at adults’ heartstrings at the same time. This movie is clearly, in my opinion, the greatest animated film of all time.
The animation is outstanding. I mean, part of the reason why I watched this movie three times in the span of little over a day was that it was so freaking beautiful. I mean, downright gorgeous. The attention to detail, the eye-popping visuals, the perfectly developed action scenes, everything about this movie’s animation makes this film shine in fascinating ways that put Disney/Pixar’s animation to shame.
Another reason why Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is the best Spider-Man movie ever made is that animation allowed this film to tell a story in a way that live-action films can’t. Like the concept that this movie was just a comic book in motion. Brilliant!
Even the action scenes were better because of the animation for that matter. Those scenes were so fluidly incredible and downright fascinating partly because the animation allowed the choreography to truly stand out for Spider-Man’s skill set in ways that a live-action film couldn’t highlight. And it’s the best Spider-Man film because it’s so delightfully unique because, it is in essence, multiple origin stories. Besides Peter Parker, we’re just meeting these other Spider-People for the first time so this movie is also introducing us to them at the same time which I lOVED!
Oh, I could go on and on talking about this movie but I’ll leave it at this; Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is an inspiring take on the classic origin story that leaves me wanting more from Miles Morales’ journey.
There have been good Spider-Man movies before but none have reached the heart and utterly fascinating storytelling that Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse has. Hence, it is easily the best Spider-Man movie ever made.
If you haven’t seen Into the Spider-Verse yet I implore you to do so asap. It is an amazing film that deserves to be watched by as many people as possible. 🙂
