The character posters for Fox’s final X-Men blockbuster have arrived
With the world embracing the emotional rollercoaster ride that is Avengers Endgame one can be forgiven for overlooking the next comic book blockbuster heading our way in just over a month.
In just a few short weeks, we will all be piling into cinema auditoriums around the world to enjoy the bittersweet finale to the 20th Century Fox X-Men era. With Disney now acquiring the Fox branch of the Marvel franchise, the mighty mutants from the Xavier mansion will be returning to the fold and taking their place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
But before we can look forward to a future where the X-Men face-off against the New Avengers, we have the small matter of X-Men: Dark Phoenix to focus on. The climax to the Fox era is set to bookend what has been a stellar legacy of movies which have made Hugh Jackman a household name and served as a springboard for what would be the rise of the comic book movie genre.
Knowing that this is the end of the road for the Fox Marvel universe is an odd prospect, especially given the X-Men will soon to be rebooted within the greater Marvel Cinematic Universe. In all fairness, I’m not entirely sure how to feel about the project. Nevertheless, Fox or Disney or whoever is in charge nowadays has unleashed a flurry of cool character posters which reveal every hero has a dark side.

If you’re not quite sure what to expect from Dark Phoenix, here’s the official synopsis:
In DARK PHOENIX, the X-MEN face their most formidable and powerful foe: one of their own, Jean Grey. During a rescue mission in space, Jean is nearly killed when she is hit by a mysterious cosmic force. Once she returns home, this force not only makes her infinitely more powerful but far more unstable. Wrestling with this entity inside her, Jean unleashes her powers in ways she can neither comprehend nor contain. With Jean spiralling out of control and hurting the ones she loves most, she begins to unravel the very fabric that holds the X-Men together. Now, with this family falling apart, they must find a way to unite — not only to save Jean’s soul, but to save our very planet from aliens who wish to weaponize this force and rule the galaxy.
X-Men: Dark Phoenix ignites the box office on June 7th.
What do you guys think? Are you ready for Dark Phoenix? Or are you still riding high from the awesomeness of Endgame?
