Another new series will be joining The Mandalorian and Cassian Andor on Disney’s new streaming service
The Star Wars universe is a funny place. Not only has Bob Iger announced today, on George Lucas’ birthday that the next Star Wars movie after The Rise of Skywalker will be the reported “Old Republic” movie from David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, but news has also emerged suggesting there is another new live-action TV series in the works at Disney Plus.
With Jon Favreau’s The Mandalorian already set to debut on the platform and the prequel series featuring Cassian Andor and K-2SO already in the pipeline, reports have been rife around the halls of Lucasfilm about a third show for some time. And today, we finally have confirmation.
The announcement came via the 6th Annual MoffettNathanson Media and Communications summit where Disney CEO Bob Iger revealed the roadmap for the future of the galaxy far, far away post The Rise of Skywalker. Attractions Magazine has the scoop:
We can expect one more live-action #StarWars series to come to Disney+ beyond the Cassian Andor series and #TheMandalorian. $DIS
