Daniel Craig, Jamie Lee Curtis and Chris Evans lead an all-star cast for Rian Johnson’s highly anticipated whodunnit!
Love him or hate him, Rian Johnson has a knack of delivering big, entertaining movies. His divisive efforts on Star Wars: The Last Jedi aside, the director has a proven track record and this autumn he will be bringing his directorial skillset to the murder mystery genre.
In Knives Out, an all-star cast will become the suspects in what Hollywood legend Jamie Lee Curtis describes as “a family gathering that turns bloody very quickly”. The movie is set for release this coming November, but thankfully we don’t have to wait too long for our first taste of what awaits us because Lionsgate has unleashed a gripping first trailer for the project which you can see below:
As you can see, Jamie Lee Curtis isn’t the only suspect. Joining her in the all-star ensemble cast are Daniel Craig, Christopher Plummer, Chris Evans, Ana De Armas, Jamie Lee Curtis, Don Johnson, Michael Shannon, Toni Collette, LaKeith Stanfield, Katherine Langford, Jaeden Martell, Riki Lindhome, Edi Patterson, Raúl Castillo, Frank Oz, and Noah Segan.
Knives Out is being billed as “witty and stylish” and will be Rian Johnson’s:
“tribute to mystery mastermind Agatha Christie; a fun, modern-day murder mystery where everyone is a suspect. When renowned crime novelist Harlan Thrombey (Plummer) is found dead at his estate just after his 85th birthday, the inquisitive and debonair Detective Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) is mysteriously enlisted to investigate. From Harlan’s dysfunctional family to his devoted staff, Blanc sifts through a web of red herrings and self-serving lies to uncover the truth behind Harlan’s untimely death.”
Despite my love affair with Johnson’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi diminishing with every subsequent viewing, I am extremely excited for Knives Out. Daniel Craig appears to be in his element alongside his big named co-stars and watching Chris Evans’ post-Avengers career is always something to look out for. And let’s face it, Jamie Lee Cutis is pure gold in anything!
Let the mystery unfold!
Knives Out is scheduled to make a killing at the box office on November 27th
