The legend of Bigfoot comes alive in chilling fashion in the trailer for Hoax
I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again…I love a monster movie. From the classic Ray Harryhausen movies to King Kong, Deep Rising to Jaws, The Relic to Godzilla, as well as the classic black and white monster movies from Universal, I adore a good creature feature. And this year, we’ve been spoiled with what appears to be two wonderful additions to the cult horror genre.
Sam Raimi’s delicious Alligator creature feature “Crawl” is currently wowing audiences around the world and next month, the legend of Bigfoot takes a dark and horrifying turn in Matt Allen’s Hoax.
Synopsis:
An investigative team travels deep into the remote Colorado wilderness after a group of young campers are viciously murdered by what maybe Bigfoot. While the highly specialized crew searches for evidence, they find themselves in a fight for survival against the legendary beast. What they encounter turns out to be more unexpected and dangerous than anything they could have ever imagined.

The thrilling monster flick stars screen stalwart, Brian Thompson. Eagle eye fans will recognise him from various Star Trek projects, The Terminator and Fright Night Part 2, but his most notable contribution to the Hollywood landscape stems from Sylvester Stallone’s 1986 action flick Cobra. Thompson portrayed the sinister series killer who chose the wrong victim when he targeted Bridgitte Nielsen’s Ingrid. She quickly found herself under the protection of Stallone’s Marion Cobretti, a member of law enforcement’s elite division known as the “Zombie Squad”.
This time, however, Thompson will have to match wits with a ferocious and bloodthirsty sasquatch. Thompson will star alongside Ben Browder, Cheryl Texiera, Shoshana Bush, Hutch Dano, Matt Reidy, Anthony Ray Parker, Christopher Soren Kelly, Ryan Lee, Max Decker, Brian Landis Folkins, Karen Slack, Shawn Rickel, and genre icon Adrienne Barbeau.
Produced by Matt Allen, Mitch Dickman, and Michael Haskins, Hoax will be receiving a (US) VOD and Blu-Ray release on August 20th, courtesy of Epic Pictures.
I am seriously pumped for this one. As well as being a movie nut, I have a lifelong fascination with myths and legends and the folklore surrounding Bigfoot has been a source of fascination for several years.
