The Batman: The Animated Series legend will portray the Arrowverse incarnation of Bruce Wayne
Batman: The Animated Series fans rejoice!
We are delighted to report that Kevin Conroy, Batman: The Animated Series stalwart and arguably the greatest Batman character actor ever has been cast as Bruce Wayne from the future in the five-part Arrowverse crossover event “Crisis on Infinite Earths”.
And if that wasn’t enough to have reaching for your utility belt with glee, the CW also confirmed that characters from Black Lightning will also be making their Arrowverse debut during the crossover.
Per the CW, “This coming season, The CW will present its biggest DC crossover ever with Crisis on Infinite Earths airing across five different episodes of the network’s hit superhero series and spanning two quarters (December 2019 and January 2020). The Crisis on Infinite Earths episodic air schedule is as follows:”
- Supergirl – Sunday, December 8, 2019 (8pm ET/PT)
- Batwoman – Monday, December 9, 2019 (8pm ET/PT)
- The Flash – Tuesday, December 10, 2019 (8pm ET/PT)

Back at SDCC, Brandon Routh confirmed that he would be reprising his role as Superman in the upcoming Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover event. According to a rumour from Umberto Gonzalez, Routh will be playing the Kingdom Come version of Superman. Plus, if that wasn’t enough, original Robin, the great Burt Ward is also set to make an appearance.
Just a few hours after publication, Kevin Conroy took to social media to respond to the news.

This is incredible news. Kevin Conroy is to many fans the ultimate Bruce Wayne/Batman voice actor and the thought of seeing him make his Arrowverse debut as an elderly Bruce Wayne is mindblowing. The CW is pulling out all the stops to ensure this crossover is the biggest event the series has ever seen, and with Kevin Conroy joining the party it’s hard to see Crisis on Infinite Earths failing to be a massive crowd-pleaser.
