Jon Favreau’s landmark Star Wars series to debut at Disney’s D23 Expo
Thank the maker.
For most fans, the arduous wait to get their first look at Jon Favreau’s all-new live-action Star Wars series has been painful. The fortunate crowd lucky enough to make the pilgrimage to Star Wars Celebration earlier this year were treated to an exclusive first look at the show, whilst the rest of the world was stuck on the outside looking in like Oliver Twist begging for more.
Thankfully, the wait is coming to an end because today, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that The Mandalorian trailer will be unveiled at Disney’s annual D23 Expo this weekend. However, don’t pop the champagne cork just yet. The source has confirmed that the trailer will be shown at the event, but it fails to confirm whether the trailer will hit the wires at the same time. Meaning, we may be forced to wait a little while longer to get our first official look.
Nevertheless, we can all take solace from the fact that the series is expected to debut on Disney’s all-new Disney+ streaming service when it launches on November 12th and that the release of the trailer is now past-due.
The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Carl Weathers, Giancarlo Esposito, Emily Swallow, Omid Abtahi, Werner Herzog and Nick Nolte. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.
