Scooby-Doo, Shaggy, Fred, Velma and Daphne get a contemporary new look for an all-new 3D animated adventure
Those of us of a certain age will have fond memories of growing up watching the original adventures of Scooby-Doo and his ghost hunting team of meddling kids. Scooby-Doo Where Are You? launched the character of Scooby-Doo into pop culture stardom where he has been loved and cherished for over fifty years.
Despite offering a few laughs, the two big-screen adaptations of the property didn’t exactly set the box office alight, mostly due to the screenplays doing little justice to what have become household names. But now, Mystery Inc is about to make the leap back to the big screen thanks to an all-new 3D animated movie titled “Scoob!”.
Ahead of the hotly anticipated trailer (expected Monday), Warner Bros. via Fandango has released some cool new images from the animated flick which gives us our first look at the Great Dane and his mystery-solving partners in crime.
Scoob! stars Zac Efron as Fred Jones, Gina Rodriguez as Velma Dinkley, Amanda Seyfried as Daphne Blake, Will Forte as Shaggy, and Frank Welker as Scooby-Doo, in addition to Tracy Morgan, Ken Jeong, Kiersey Clemons, Mark Wahlberg and Jason Isaacs.
The movie will explain how Scooby-Doo and Shaggy first met and how they formed Mystery Inc with Fred, Velma, and Daphne. Along the way, “they must foil a diabolical plot revolving around a ghost dog known as Cerberus, discovering Scooby’s secret legacy and their own epic destiny.”
Scoob! is set for a May 15th, 2020 release. Get your Scooby Snacks ready!
