John Turturro Joins The Batman

The Transformers alum joins Matt Reeves’ noir-inspired Batman adventure

Matt Reeves is putting together one hell of a cast list for his upcoming noir detective Batman adventure. In recent weeks, the director has cast Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as The Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon; and most recently, Andy Serkis was cast as Bruce Wayne’s faithful butler Alfred Pennyworth. And today, we can add another name to the glittering list of all-stars.

Taking to social media, Matt Reeves has confirmed that Transformers alum, John Turturro has joined the cast as Gotham City crimelord Carmine Falcone. The DC Comics gangster is one of the most influential crime bosses in Gotham, controlling many of the underworld syndicates festering within the Narrows.

In addition to his fabulous cast list for The Batman, Reeves has appointed another long-time collaborator in Michael Giacchino to compose the score for the movie. Giacchino has become a top-tier composer in recent years with a string of high profile soundtracks for Jurassic World, Spider-Man, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Up, Star Trek and Coco to name but a few, and will now bring his unswerving talent to bear on Gotham’s greatest detective.

Exciting times ahead for the Dark Knight.
