The Mandalorian Chapter 8 Biker Scout

The Mandalorian | A Riveting Finale to a Riveting Series

Annlyel casts her eye over The Mandalorian‘s stunning season finale and THAT shocking reveal!

Ever since the first episode of The Mandalorian I have been in love with this series. Each episode has managed to surprise me in unexpected ways, some more than others, and now the end of Season 1 has finally come. It’s a bittersweet moment, considering that we have to wait until Fall of 2020 to see what happens next in this tremendous story, but I can sit back knowing that the first season of this fantastic series has been an utter blast from beginning to end.

The Mandalorian - Chapter 7 Mando, Cara Dune

We met new characters, journeyed to old worlds, were given a bucket of nostalgia with all of the fixins’, and we were given a surprise ending that sent the internet ablaze, at least for a short while.

MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD!

That ending, of course, would belong to Moff Gideon’s grand entrance of the Darksaber. Yes, a freaking Darksaber! In live-action. I couldn’t and still can’t believe what I was seeing. The closest thing Star Wars fans had of seeing a Darksaber in live-action was in Rogue One when Jyn Erso referenced it as she was trying to locate the data file that contained the Death Star plans.

Moff Gideon and The Darksaber

To see one, however, blazing with its black blade in actual live-action was truly a dream come true. And it’s perfect for the series, which of course follows the story of The Mandalorian. I mean, what isn’t better than an antagonist who wields the Darksaber, the very weapon that is only worn by the de facto leader of Mandalore and Death Watch. Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni have a lot more up their sleeves and I am ready for all of it.

But before I sign off, has anyone else remembered that we finally learned The Mandalorian‘s real name and managed to see his actual face in the same episode?! Talk about a surprise!

All in all, compared to most Season 1 finales for the Star Wars series, that being The Clone Wars and Star Wars: Resistance, this was definitely the best, which bodes great fortune for what’s to come.

I have spoken.
