The Mandalorian Moff Gideon

Star Wars | Did The Mandalorian Set Up This Character for The Clone Wars?

Annlyel looks ahead to the new season of The Clone Wars and explores whether “The Siege Of Mandalore” will witness the rise of Moff Gideon

The Mandalorian came out in November and while it managed to enthrall viewers around the country and the world I’ve begun to realize that the particular timing of the series may be very relevant.

In the seventh episode which came out two days before The Rise of Skywalker, we saw cute Baby Yoda use the Force to heal Greef Karga and save his life. In The Rise of Skywalker the following Friday, we saw Rey use the power to Force heal a couple of times, once to save a wounded serpent creature and once to prevent Ben from dying, who in turn brought Rey back from the dead later in the movie.

Now, thanks to the last two episodes of The Mandalorian, we have been introduced to a rather fascinating Darksaber-wielding antagonist named Moff Gideon. Apparently, Gideon would play a massive role in the annihilation of the Mandalorians. Considering that a few episodes of the upcoming Clone Wars series will focus on “The Siege Of Mandalore,” is there a chance that we could see Gideon make an early return to our small screens via the animated series? It’s very possible.

I can’t believe we’re getting the final season of The Clone Wars in less than a month. I’m so ready!

The final season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars begins streaming on Disney Plus from February 17th.

  1. I’m not sure if that works out on the time table or not. Rebels takes place after the Clone Wars and in Rebels, Sabine had the dark saber and then passed it off to Bo-Katan. It would make more sense for Gideon to show up a Rebels sequel. However, that isn’t to say the Gideon doesn’t show up but doesn’t acquire the dark saber until later.

    Hmmmm…..
