David Schwimmer, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and Matthew Perry will return for a one-hour “unscripted” reunion special
Ask anyone from the nineties generation and they’ll tell you that NBC’s FRIENDS was the unmissable show of the decade. The show ran for ten seasons and over two hundred episodes, won multiple Emmys and made David Schwimmer, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and Matthew Perry household names. In the years that followed, the series has gained a whole new lease of life thanks to the series being made available on Netflix. Given the recent resurgence, fans old and new have banded together to call on Warner Bros to greenlight a reunion, but until now those pleas have fallen on deaf ears.
Well, back your bags because a long-overdue return to Central Perk is ACTUALLY HAPPENING. After some exhaustive negotiations, we understand that a deal has been reached in principle with Friends cast members David Schwimmer, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and Matthew Perry for a one-hour reunion special for the HBO Max streaming platform. Each member of the cast is foreseen to earn $3 million to $4 million for the special which will reportedly cost $20 million to produce. Additionally, unlike the original series, this special reunion special will be entirely unscripted.
So, dreams really do come true in Hollywood – with the right amount of cash!
Say what you will at the astronomical price tag HBO Max is about to burden itself with, but the original series meant so much to so many people that the outlay will be money well spent. There are legions of fans (myself included) who have been desperate to see where our beloved characters ended up, and for the small price of a subscription fee – we’ll all be lining up to have those dreams realised.
