Could Jon Favreau be about to answer the age-old question of Boba Fett‘s destiny? Annlyel investigates
Yep, I said it. Boba Fett could very well make his long-awaited return in the second season of The Mandalorian and the evidence is very clear.
SPOILERS AHEAD!
If you’ve seen the series’ eight-episode first season you probably remember the mysterious conclusion to the season’s fifth episode, ‘The Gunslinger’. Mando and uber-cute Baby Yoda have managed to leave Tatooine partially unscathed except for the traumatic events they met there. The episode cuts to black before showing a pair of boots approaching the deceased bounty hunter, Fennic Shand. There’s a distinct clink of what sounds like spurs along with a look at the individual’s long cape.
This mysterious character, who’s clearly looking for Mando and his ultimate prize, Baby Yoda, was never seen again in the first season. But what could that mean?
I believe this mysterious somebody was Boba Fett. In fact, I’m 95% sure that the fan-favorite will return to reprise his role as he hunts for Mando in Season 2. Think about it. We saw him fall into the Sarlaac but this is Boba Fett we’re talking about. It’s very possible he could’ve escaped. (Remember when we all thought Maul was dead until he was resurrected in The Clone Wars?) If Boba Fett did play a role in this next season, it would take this show to the next level.
Not only is The Mandalorian an already-fascinating character but to see him face off against one of the greatest bounty hunters of all time would be otherworldly.
