Ice Station By Matthew Reilly
This is really one for the men out there if I’m totally honest. A rip-roaring, boy’s own adventure for the modern age, the novel by acclaimed Australian author, Matthew Reilly is a fantastic way to pass the time spent in isolation. Depicting a race between British, American and French armed forces to obtain an object discovered encased in ice in Antarctica, the book is both action-packed, thrilling and a blast to read from start to finish.
The book zips along at a tremendous pace and contains violence, murder and a great smattering of humor inside its pages. At times, you’ll find yourself cheering, at others gasping and even feeling a sense of sadness as some of the characters we meet inside the book and we begin to like, sadly meet nasty and unfortunate ends. But on the whole, it is a book to sit down with, in a quiet room and let yourself drift away into an all-action story that will thrill the reader.
If you want to read more Reilley, then allow me to suggest reading Contest, Temple or The Great Zoo Of China. All three are on par with Ice Station and again, will entertain and thrill you while the hours just drift away as you will become engrossed in the stories they bring to the table. Go check them out!
Let us know if you have any suggestions of great books and literature our readers should check out and we’ll feature and share them with the FOTF community.
Stay safe.
