Isolation Bookclub - A Library Of Treasures

Max is on hand with his recommendation of what to read whilst in self-quarantine.

To help beat the coronavirus blues, for the foreseeable future, members of team Future of the Force will be on hand with our recommendations of awesome literature to check out whilst in self-quarantine. Whether its lesser-known gems, New York Times Best-Sellers, or just funs reads – we’ll be here to keep you entertained during this difficult time.

A Library Of Treasures

As an avid bibliophile (or lover of books), there are many books you could read to pass the time. Longbourn is a great read. Written by Jo Baker, it is an exciting and riveting tale of the events of Pride and Prejudice but through the eyes of the servants. It is so well written and has so many great characters; it’s impossible not to love.

Black Boy by Richard Wright is a memoir about growing up as an African American in a racist America during the early 1900s. Then fast forward to modern times with Americanah a book detailing a woman from Africa coming to America and having to deal with the fact, that for the first time, she is not in the majority. Witty and topical it deals with Ifemelu finding her way through her blog and brains. It is written by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, which is quite a mouthful.

Star Wars fans may want to check out Eragon by Christoper Paolini which is essentially Star Wars, but with a dragon. Vampire High is also a fun read and Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbit; is something every human being should read in their lifetime, no matter what age. Reading is one of the most fun things I can think of and I hope you can get your hands on some of these books!

Let us know if you have any suggestions of great books and literature our readers should check out and we’ll feature and share them with the FOTF community.

Stay safe.
