ORIGINAL REPORT: Just when we thought it was safe to dust off the Batarangs and turn the Batcave lights back on – reports are emerging that filming on Matt Reeves’ The Batman has been temporarily paused due to a member of the crew testing positive for COVID-19.

Warner Bros. said in a statement: “A member of The Batman production has tested positive for Covid-19, and is isolating in accordance with established protocols.  Filming is temporarily paused.”

Sadly, this comes as another bitter blow to Matt Reeves‘ hotly-anticipated new adventure. With the production only twenty-five percent complete, filming had finally resumed this week and things were getting back into full swing. Unfortunately, the continuing pandemic shows no sign of relenting, and should these delays continue – The Batman may find itself removed from its intended Oct. 1, 2021 release date.

Let’s hope this latest shutdown is only temporary and the Caped Crusader can get back to fighting crime as soon as possible.
