The madness will continue on HBO Max after the rebranding of DC Universe
The hugely popular animated Harley Quinn TV series has officially been renewed for a third season to air exclusively on HBO Max. Over the past few weeks, interest in Harley Quinn has grown exponentially thanks to a new lease of life on HBO Max – and after a brief period of uncertainty, the streamer has officially greenlit the third season.
The switch to HBO Max comes hot on the heels of the news that the DC Universe platform is set to be rebranded as a comics-only service named DC Universe Infinite. The subscription service has been confirmed to hold 24,000 titles and will feature the debut of comics just six months after the physical versions are released. The change comes into force from January 21.
Back to Harley Quinn, and this news represents a breakthrough in the stalemate between the producers and HBO Max. In recent weeks, rumors had been swirling that the renewal of the series hinged on budget negotiations – but thankfully these stumbling blocks appear to have been resolved and Harley Quinn is now free to continue her adventures on HBO Max. Harley Quinn will now join Young Justice Seasons 1-4, Titans Seasons 1-3, Doom Patrol Seasons 1-3, and DC’s Stargirl Season 1 in making the permanent move to the platform.
Harley Quinn stars Kaley Cuoco, Lake Bell, Diedrich Bader, Alan Tudyk, Rahul Kohli, Christopher Meloni, Tony Hale, Ron Funches, Wanda Sykes, Natalie Morales, Jim Rash, Giancarlo Esposito, Jason Alexander, and J.B. Smoove. Both seasons of the show are available to stream on DC Universe and HBO Max.
