‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ Expanded Score Coming in 2020

John Powell announces a digital exclusive streaming and digital purchase – complete with over 2 hours of original/unedited music from Solo: A Star Wars Story

This will be a day long remembered.

When Solo: A Star Wars Story first debuted on the big screen one of the many talking points was the sublime score composed and adapted by John Powell. The score was a wonderful breath of fresh air. The perfect blend of Star Wars nostalgia injected with a shot of contemporary awesomeness that reinvigorated the symphony of the galaxy far, far away for years to come.

However, at the time of its release, fans were distraught to find the score was incomplete – with many of the more exquisite themes missing from the finished soundtrack. Well, all that is about to change.

John Powell has taken to social media to announce an all-new digital-only complete Solo: A Star Wars Story score featuring over TWO HOURS of music “as written for the film”.  The score will boast all cues from the movie as well as the original unedited version of the end credits suite! Check out the exclusive reveal here:

This is incredible news! John Powell produced a score worthy of following in the footsteps of John Williams and an expanded score is most welcome. And if that isn’t enough to have you dancing around the campfire like a Tusken Raider at a Bantha barbecue – the score will include the full unedited end credits suite for the very first time.

Sadly, there is no official release date except for the vague “Coming Soon” label attached – but with just three months left of the year – we could be adding this wonderful edition to our respective collections sooner rather than later.
