Being a 'Star Wars' Fan: A Quick Self-Analysis

Does the galaxy far, far away support a comedy movie? Max explores the idea of a Star Wars comedy adventure

There are rumors that there is a Star Wars comedy film in the works. Haha haha – no. Marvel has already tried to constantly inject comedy into its films and it gets very annoying. Except for Deadpool of course.

The new trilogy attempted this a little bit as well, but I feel that comedy in the galaxy far, far away should be very subtle like the Original and Prequel trilogies did it. Making a Star Wars comedy film sounds really really BAD. And I think it will piss fans off harder than ever before.

Star Wars | The Defining Moments: Luke Skywalker

What could even be done that’s comedic in Star Wars? A Jedi slipping on a banana peel and impaling himself with a lightsaber? Or maybe something more satirical like how the Stormtroopers can’t aim their blasters and their is a conspiracy happening at the E-11 weapons manufacture. Both those ideas sound horrible. And yes, I am not a comedy writer; but I don’t think comedy and the galaxy far, far away mix.

Star Wars | Defining Moments: Han Solo

For the record; comedy is my second favorite genre (after Sci-fi). I just don’t think they should be mixed. Ever.
