The Mandalorian found a way to make the impossible possible with a story that touched the hearts of millions.
The Mandalorian is an Emmy and Golden Globe-nominated phenomenon!
Star Wars changed the world in 1977. It inspired generations of fans who would be forever impacted by a movie that at one time seemed impossible to make. Despite becoming a multi-billion dollar franchise following A New Hope consisting of eleven movies, dozens of books, a whole bunch of games, millions of toys, television shows, etc. the franchise has only ever made one movie that would garner the highest appreciation and recognition a movie could ever get. An Oscar for Best Picture.
There have been some fantastic sequels to A New Hope. Some of which fans have deemed better than the movie that spawned a franchise as powerful. But Star Wars was the only film to leave even The Academy wowed. Years passed and the only Oscar nominations the franchise could muster were for the Best Visual Effects category, Best Original Score (clearly) or Best Sound Mixing, Best Sound Editing, and Best Film Editing. And then arrived The Mandalorian.
Star Wars fans loved it. Baby Yoda, now officially named Grogu, became an internet sensation. But did I think it was going to get the recognition it rightfully deserved alongside other television series like The Crown or Succession? Heck no! But it did.
The Mandalorian is now an Emmy and Golden Globe-nominated phenomenon. Just listen to those words. Emmy and Golden-Globe nominated! That’s like having a Star Wars movie nominated for Best Picture. It seems impossible, right? Well, The Mandalorian found a way to make the impossible possible with a story that touched the hearts of millions.
Its storyline over two seasons has been top-notch, filled with delightful surprises and shocking twists and turns. Its two main characters, The Mandalorian and Grogu, bring such life to this show that it is almost impossible not to enjoy it. And did I mention it was an amazing show?!
I’m so happy to see Star Wars recognized for its crowning achievement of storytelling. And I can’t wait to see what surprises a third season can bring us.
The Mandalorian is streaming exclusively on Disney+ NOW!
