Aliens: Fireteam, a new third-person survival co-op shooter will put you on the front line of the Alien universe
Cold Iron Studios has shared a teaser trailer for ALIENS: FIRESTORM. An all-new third-person co-op shooter game that will be taking fans deep into the Xenomorph hive. Set in Ridley Scott’s robust universe, Aliens: Firestorm will take place over a multi-mission story campaign. Similar in structure to Left 4 Dead or Back 4 Blood. The game has been designed for players to enter the Colonial Marines and lock and load their pulse rifles ready for war.
Cold Iron co-founder Craig Zinkievich says one of the goals of Aliens: Fireteam is to fulfill the “Cameron-Esque” fantasy we saw on screen in the 1986 classic Aliens.

INTO THE HIVE
The game will take place 23 years after the original Alien movie trilogy. In a time when Xenomorph outbreaks are rare but the aliens are widely known about. The Colonial Protection Act of 2187 commissioned warships to patrol the universe and protect colonists from Xenomorph outbreaks. You play a new soldier aboard the USS Endeavor and you end up orbiting Katanga after a distress call.
There are over 20 total enemy types, including 11 unique types of Xenomorphs ranging from Facehuggers to Praetorians. And Synthetics will also be on your list of foes. Each campaign has new enemies to fight, one of them being a Xenomorph hive.
GAMEPLAY
Players can choose one of five unique classes. Gunner, Demolisher, Technician, Doc, and Recon. You’ll be able to customize your colonial marine with unlockable cosmetics. Challenge Cards are optional mutators that alter gameplay to encourage replayability. Meanwhile, higher difficulty levels introduce things like friendly fire, deadlier acid spray from Xenomorphs, and scarcer resources.
This exciting new game bears all the hallmarks of James Cameron’s beloved sequel. In which, Ellen Ripley and a team of Colonial Marines deployed to rescue the colonists of LV-426. All of whom had become hosts for the Xenomorphs and their Queen. And if the trailer is anything to go by, then her majesty will be on hand to add her menace to proceedings.
COLONIAL MARINES
As an Aliens mega-fan, the thought of suiting up and loading my Pulse rifle is one too exciting to ignore. Aliens: Fireteam looks just as immersive as Aliens: Colonial Marines – which was one helluva ride. We can only hope it lives up to the hype.
The game will release this summer on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, and Xbox One.
