Check out this incredible fan art coming to Disney+ to celebrate Star Wars Day (May 4th)
Star Wars Day is one of the biggest days on the calendar. And this year carries extra significance given that our celebrations will once again be restricted by the pandemic. However, that isn’t stopping Disney Plus. As always, the streamer is on hand to ensure that our celebrations will be suitably epic!
THE BAD BATCH
Aside from the monumental launch of The Bad Batch; (which incidentally will boast a special extended 70-minute season opener). Beginning today, the streamer will be changing the artwork adorning the Star Wars landing page.
MURAL
In celebration of May 4th, Disney Plus will honor the creativity and artistry of the Star Wars community with a platform takeover. The landing page will be transformed by some amazing artwork created by a group of artists and fans! Lucasfilm and Disney+ worked with each artist to identify what title resonated most with them. The result was some truly unique pieces that bring the magic to life.
The mural will feature characters from across the “Star Wars” universe and highlight the duality of good vs. evil. Check out our glorious sneak peek below:
“We are constantly challenging ourselves to create experiences that engage fans more deeply and creatively with the Disney+ user interface. Whenever they open the app, we want viewers to feel like they are entering a truly unique Disney experience. For this year’s “May the 4th,” we teamed up with Lucasfilm to celebrate the fans that make this day possible by showcasing multiple pieces of impressive fan art created by the Star Wars community on Disney+.” said Jerrell B Jimerson, Disney Plus EVP of Products & Design.
