Matthew Robinson (Love And Monsters) signs on to pen the script for Patty Jenkins’ Star Wars Rogue Squadron
Even though the small-screen adventures from the galaxy far, far away continue to dazzle its fans; the lack of a big-screen Star Wars movie has left a major gap in our cinematic calendar. But with Patty Jenkins set to take her first step into a larger world, all eyes on Star Wars: Rogue Squadron to deliver in a big way. And today, the project has moved a little bit closer by finding its writer.

Thanks to a report from THR; we have learned that Lucasfilm has appointed Love and Monsters co-writer Matthew Robinson to write the screenplay. Patty Jenkins is taking the helm on the movie which will introduce “a new generation of starfighter pilots as they earn their wings and risk their lives in a boundary-pushing, high-speed thrill-ride, and move the saga into the future era of the galaxy.”

The Rogue Squadron property is adored by Star Wars fans everywhere and has major connections to the Skywalker Saga. So, all eyes will be on the Monster Trucks scribe to deliver a noteworthy script. No pressure there! But with Patty Jenkins on hand to add her visual brilliance; the movie is a sure-fire hit and we cannot wait to see who will be jumping into an X-Wing and blowing stuff up!

Star Wars: Rogue Squadron will release in December 2023.
