The Tamashii Nations S.H. Figuarts collection has announced the first new Boba Fett (Repainted Armor figure) from The Mandalorian
Last week, Tamashii Nations announced the first new Boba Fett (Repaint Armor) figure for its S.H. Figuarts collection. The famous bounty hunter made a sensational return to the galaxy far, far away in The Mandalorian. And fans young and old have been longing for an action figure ever since.
HASBRO
Many of us expected Hasbro’s Black Series line to be the first to produce an action figure, but Figuarts have beaten them to the punch on this occasion. Boba was announced alongside a brand new Din Djarin which, for the very first time comes with a changeable head featuring the likeness of Pedro Pascal. But what is noteworthy is the fact that Boba Fett also comes with a changeable head featuring the likeness of Temuera Morrison.
THE FIGURE
So what can we expect from this new figure? Well, for starters, the figure will feature both soft goods and plastic to complete the famous armor. The bulk of the figure will be manufactured in plastic, but for the tunic, SHF has opted for soft goods. Which will divide collectors everywhere. Another noteworthy addition to the figure is the ability to attach the chain code to his wrist gauntlets. As a result, fans will be able to recreate the moment from the series when Boba reveals his code to Din Djarin.
WEAPONRY
As we have come to expect from the best bounty hunter in the galaxy, Boba Fett will come with an array of new weapons. Aside from his customary EE-3 blaster rifle, Fett comes with his new blaster pistol, the aforementioned changeable helmet, and jetpack missile launch effects. Which should give us a definitive action figure. However, the success of this figure will hinge on the quality of the facial recognition software. Over the years, Tamashii has delivered some VERY questionable faces, despite the advances in digital face printing. So, if SHF can crack the code and deliver a truly accurate face sculpt, we could be looking at the best Boba Fett figure we’ve seen in years. However, it will have to go a long way to beat the Return Of The Jedi MAFEX version.

PRE-ORDERS
Pre-orders for this figure are already open from various outlets. And Tamashii has set a release date for January 2022. So, we won’t have to wait too long before this iconic figure joins our respective collections.
Personally, aside from the soft goods tunic – of which I am not a fan, I cannot wait to get my hands on this figure. Aside from looking totally badass, the headsculpt appears to be on point. And considering this will be the first 6″ scale figure to feature Temuera Morrison’s likeness, this is sure to be one of the most anticipated figures in many years.
Will you be adding the S.H. Figuarts Boba Fett to your collection? Are you a fan of the soft goods tunic? Leave a comment in the section below. We’d love to hear from you.
