Hot Toys Review | Coruscant Guard (Star Wars: The Clone Wars)

The Hot Toys Coruscant Guard from Star Wars: The Clone Wars is a great figure and a must-have for fans of the Prequels!

Hot Toys continues to expand its line of figures from The Clone Wars with the Coruscant Guard. It’s currently in stock at Sideshow Collectibles, the official Hot Toys distributor.

THE BOX AND ACCESSORIES

As with every Star Wars collectible, the box has the same design – black with pictures of the figure. The Clone Wars figures have a blue and yellow colored strip. So you can easily recognize from which line is each figure.

In terms of accessories, you don’t get as many as with the 501st Clone Trooper. Though it’s understandable, it’s not a deluxe version and Coruscant Guards don’t need as many weapons as the 501st or other legions that are on the battlefields. These clones mostly stay on Coruscant and help for diplomatic missions.

You get the same type of hands as the previous clone figures except you get two new ones to hold the electro staff. It comes with this electro staff and two electricity effects. This staff is a nice addition to the Clone weaponry. It can be seen in The Clone Wars in season 5. This trooper also has the usual clone weapons – a DC-15A blaster rifle and a DC-15A blaster carbine, plus two thermal detonators. They are straight repacks. As for the display base, it’s the same as the 501st Clone Trooper except it’s a crotch grabber stand instead of a dynamic one.

THE FIGURE

This figure has the same sculpt as the 501st clone trooper except it is painted differently. I love the shade of red they have chosen, it’s striking. The paint application is excellent with some fantastic weathering and several scratches on the red paint. It does feel like he’s been on the battlefield. However, it’s also a problem. Indeed, it’s a Coruscant Guard so they don’t really go to the battlefield. Thus, I would have preferred a clean look for this trooper. Nevertheless, I still think the weathering on this one is fantastic!

This figure has over 30 points of articulation so you can get some great action poses. The armor parts are not attached to the body so you can move them for better articulation range.
