The team at Hasbro offers an update on the Star Wars: Black Series HasLab Rancor crowdfunding campaign
Hasbro has finally offered an update on the Star Wars: The Black Series HasLab Rancor. Although the crowdfunding project was announced during Hasbro Pulse Con a few weeks back; the unlockables that will come with the beast after each tier is achieved remained a mystery. But thanks to today’s Fan First Friday event, we now know that the first tier of unlockables will deliver a Gamorrean Guard in retro ‘Power Of The Force’ packaging.
But if that isn’t enough to have you salivating like a Wookiee at a Porg roast; Jing and Eric went one step further by giving our first look at the prototype for the beast. And believe me, it looks impressive. But don’t take my word for it. Sit back, press play, and prepare to be dragged down into the depths of Jabba’s Palace.

GAMORREAN GUARD
As mentioned during the live stream, we now have confirmation that 9,000 backers are needed to unlock the initial project. However, should the campaign attract the 11,000 backers needed, supporters can look forward to a new Black Series Gamorrean Guard. But not just any old Gamorrean. This one-of-a-kind release will boast a retro “Power Of The Force” cardback.
“The Black Series Gamorrean Guard figure on a classic Kenner-inspired Power of the Force card back with a special collectors coin to continue the tradition of celebrating the Kenner brand. This figure will be exclusive to backers of the HasLab Rancor and let collectors recreate the iconic scene in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi when the Gamorrean Guard unwittingly becomes the Rancor’s “lunch.”
