New images from Jurassic World Dominion have surfaced revealing Owen being chased by a hungry Atrociraptor
Universal Pictures has been pouring fuel into the Jurassic World Dominion promotion train for weeks now. After dropping a dinosaur-packed prelude to the movie; the studio has shared a few juicy images of our heroes being chased by various hungry dinos. We’ve had Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) swimming through a swamp pursued by a cantankerous Therizinosaurus. And we’ve seen Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) trying to appease a hungry Parasaurolophus. But the latest picture puts Grady in the thick of the action.
ATROCIRAPTOR ATTACK
Much in the same vein as his co-star, the newest image reveals Pratt riding his motorcycle away from a hungry Atrociraptor. The dino is a newcomer to the franchise, but according to director Colin Trevorrow; these pack hunters will be a bit more brutish than their Velociraptor cousins. Talking to Empire, Trevorrow said:
“Where the Velociraptor is a little bit more of a stealth hunter, the Atrociraptors are a bit more brutish. These things will just come at you. And in this particular case, they’ve picked (Owen’s) scent, and they’re not going to stop until he’s dead. They’re pretty brutal. They’re pretty vicious.”
If that isn’t enough to have you running for your Jurassic Park Blu-Ray set; the director also opened up about some of the other new species making their theatrical debut.
“I love the Pyroraptors. I love the Atrociraptors. There’s a little one called the Moros intrepidus, who doesn’t do a ton in the movie, but whenever it shows up, I always love it.”
WORLDWIDE PARK
The tone of the movie will be a major departure from anything we have seen in the franchise before. And the biggest change will be the scope of the movie featuring dinosaurs spread across EVERY continent. And in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Colin Trevorrow teased us with what we can expect.
“Dominion is set all over the world, through many different environments: wilderness, urban, desert, snow. It’s exciting to see these creatures navigate environments that they weren’t built to survive in. They grew up in a theme park and now they’re here!”
Joining Chris Pratt in Jurassic World Dominion are Bryce Dallas Howard, Omar Sy; Mamoudou Athie, DeWanda Wise. Daniella Pineda, Justice Smith, Jake Johnson; Scott Haze, Campbell Scott, Dichen Lachman, Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum.
Jurassic World Dominion brings the dinosaurs to theatres in June 2022.
