Was the season finale of Marvel Studios’ Hawkeye the gripping end you had hoped for?

The Hawkeye season finale is finally here. But did Marvel Studios stick the landing?

Okay, Marvel Studios has another conundrum to rectify; sticking the landing with their finales. For a long while, the MCU had one major problem: their lackluster villains. It was a problem that has since been resolved with antagonists like Zemo, Killmonger, Thanos, Wenwu, and more recently, the villains in No Way Home to make these films so much better.

The only finale that exceeded all of my expectations was Loki whose jaw-dropping conclusion left me reeling. I mean Kang the Conqueror! Kang the freaking Conqueror?! Mind-blowing.

So, on that note, Hawkeye didn’t exactly have a terrible finale but with the incredibly serious and dark tones of the last three episodes, it felt like the show had taken an incredibly sharp turn to be a humorous romp that would make us all smile for the holidays.

I enjoyed some elements of the episode like Kate’s hilarious moments with Yelena and Yelena’s imminent confrontation with Clint Barton (I cried a lot at that part btw) but it just felt incredibly corny at times. Not to mention the underwhelming post-credit scene that had me utterly bewildered at the end.

Am I excited for the future of Hawkeye? Yes! Am I pumped about the Echo series? For sure. But this finale was not it! Sorry Marvel Studios. You need to do better with your shows’ conclusions. And when you get that right you will undoubtedly have some of the best shows around.

Hawkeye is streaming on Disney+ NOW!
