Hot Toys Review | Tusken Raider (Star Wars: The Mandalorian)
The Hot Toys Tusken Raider is a great figure that features many possibilities for your Mandalorian display!
Hot Toys continues to expand its line of figures from The Mandalorian with the Tusken Raider! Technically, this can also be a figure from the Prequel and Original trilogies as they also have the same outfit.
BOX AND ACCESSORIES
As usual with Star Wars collectibles, you always have the same box design. It’s a black box with a promotional picture of the figure. Since it’s a figure from The Mandalorian, you also have the orange-colored strip. This figure comes with eight hands, an additional bandolier, a rifle, two different Gaderffii, a small bowl, macrobinoculars, and a display base. With no surprise, it’s the usual sandy display base with footprints. It’s one that Hot Toys uses a lot on figures from The Mandalorian. This time, they used a light shade of beige to resemble the sands of Tatooine.
Each hand feature a piece of fabric that is part of the gauntlets. I do think it was the right choice to go with fabric for the hands and not plastic. Indeed, it looks seamless and fits perfectly with the rest of the outfit. As for the weapons, they’re carefully sculpted. For the Gaderffii they used two different shades of brown and metallic paint with a slight rust effect. And the macrobinoculars also have a nice dust effect, it looks great!
You can display this figure with different looks. That’s what I like about it. You can have him with two identical bandoliers, two different bandoliers, one bandolier, with or without the coat and with or without the belt. So technically, you could army build this one and each of them would look different.
Hot Toys has done a great job with the outfit. They used different shades of beige for each piece of clothing. The coat is the darkest shade while the piece of fabric under the belt is slightly lighter. While the tunic and the gauntlets are the pieces with the lightest shades of beige.
For the boots and the head, they went with plastic. For the boots, I think they could have used some fabric as well. I can understand their choice for the head though. They sculpted it and painted it in a way that fits well with the rest of the outfit. As usual with Hot Toys, it’s always about the details.
This figure has over 30 points of articulation so you can get some great action poses. And you won’t have to worry about damaging your figure as the outfit is mostly made out of fabric. Only the belt and the bandoliers are using pleather.
The Tusken Raider is a great figure that features many possibilities for display!
