“As a Prequels fan, this episode of The Book of Boba Fett is pure joy. It’s the gift that keeps on giving.”

It’s Wednesday so it’s time for a new episode of The Book of Boba Fett. This week’s episode is titled ‘Return of the Mandalorian.’

AN OLD FRIEND

This isn’t an episode about Boba Fett but as the title suggests, it’s an episode about The Mandalorian. When we last saw him, he was aboard Gideon’s ship saying goodbye to Grogu. It left the door open for a lot of possibilities. This episode finally answers the question of what Din Djarin has been up to since then. And the answer is quite exciting!

This episode brings back Mando but it also brings back other characters we hadn’t seen in a while. I was incredibly surprised about this! The Mando-Verse is the gift that keeps on giving. This episode is a turning point in Din’s story as it closes an important chapter of his life while opening the way for something else. I have to tell you even though I love The Book of Boba Fett, I am so glad this episode isn’t about him. It’s been more than a year now that I have been waiting to see Mando again. And it’s a glorious return for The Mandalorian!

There is a reason this episode is part of The Book of Boba Fett. It’s not fan service or filler as some would say. It’s important to both the character’s story and why he is brought into the events of this series.

PREQUELS LOVE

More than bringing back Din Djarin, this episode is a love letter to the Prequels. I felt like a kid again watching this episode. It was pure joy. The whole sequence on Tatooine was everything I’ve ever wanted to see again in Star Wars. As Anakin would say now this is podracing! So thank you Jon Favreau and Bryce Dallas Howard for this episode. I’m forever grateful!

Beyond the Tatooine sequence, the Ringworld was also heavily influenced by the Prequels. It feels great to see a big city again. I want more of this in my Star Wars. This new world is such an original design and I surely hope to see more of it in the future.

VERDICT

As a Prequels fan, this episode of The Book of Boba Fett is pure joy. It’s the gift that keeps on giving.

The Book of Boba Fett is now streaming on Disney Plus.
