The new Jurassic World Dominion trailer reveals the cast facing down the ferocious Giganotosaurus – the new Apex Predator on the block!
Look out Jurassic fans because the new trailer for Jurassic World Dominion has arrived. The three-minute teaser is packed to the brim with breathtaking visuals, spectacular locations, and returning stars. And just when we thought it couldn’t get any better; the lovable Velociraptor, Blue can be seen nursing a new baby. But aside from these glorious moments of dinosaur awesomeness, one thing looms large over proceedings. A dark silhouette emerging from the forest. One colossal enough to startle even seasoned veterans like Alan Grant, Ellie Sattler, and Ian Malcolm.
ENTER A NEW APEX PREDATOR
So what creature could make these pillars of the franchise uneasy? The mighty Tyrannosaurs, or the Spinosaurus? Definitely. But this dinosaur’s silhouette comes with ridges and spikes neither predator can lay claim to. So what is the newest apex predator to menace the characters of the beloved Jurassic franchise? ENTER THE GIGANOTOSAURUS?
The ferocious new predator is the long-rumored Giganotosaurus; one of the largest carnivorous dinosaurs to ever roam the planet. And to put it in perspective, the monster possibly rivaled or even exceeded the size of the Tyrannosaurus. The Rex measured in at an impressive 12 meters long, and 12 feet at the hip; whereas the Giganotosaurus is projected to stand at a whopping12.5 feet in length. Although paleontologists are yet to find a complete skeleton to substantiate these measurements. But either way, this monster is the real deal.
Lending more weight to the identity of the monster is paleontologist Steve Brusatte. A seasoned veteran from the University of Edinburgh, Brusatte has spent years studying these fearsome predators. And he just so happens to be a scientific advisor on Jurassic World Dominion. A coincidence or something more sinister?!
So, for all intents and purposes, it seems that we have a new apex predator on the block. One that could rival the mighty Tyrannosaurus in size and weight. And even though they lived on different continents and never encountered one another, a theatrical face-off between these titans would be one helluva spectacle. One that has the potential to go down in franchise history as one of the best dino battles ever committed to film. And that alone makes Dominion the must-see movie of the summer.
Jurassic World Dominion unleashes the dino fury in cinemas on June 10.
