First Look At Darth Vader In Obi-Wan Kenobi

Just twenty-four hours after getting our first look at Obi-Wan Kenobi – the Dark Lord Of The Sith strikes back! DARTH VADER RETURNS!

The Force is back in balance…just twenty-four hours after getting our first look at the new Obi-Wan Kenobi limited series; Lucasfilm has shared our first look at Hayden Christensen’s Darth Vader. The sensational new image features the iconic Dark Lord of the Sith emerging from his iconic meditation chamber last seen in The Empire Strikes Back. Check it out below:

The meditation chamber was the only place that allowed Vader to breathe without his helmet (as seen in TESB). Which begs the question, will the series feature a scene with Vader without the iconic mask? As previously reported, Hayden Christensen is slipping into the iconic armor once again. But until now, we’ve assumed he would be pulling double duty as Vader and Anakin Skywalker via a series of flashbacks. Now we are looking forward to something far more substantial.

VADER/ANAKIN

With Vader’s meditation chamber being resurrected, does this mean we’ll be seeing Vader/Anakin outside of the helmet? It would seem so. And nobody knows better than series writer Joby Harold. And while sitting down with Entertainment Weekly, he touched upon Vader’s dramatic return and what we can expect to see from the Dark Lord of the Sith. He said: “His shadow is cast across so much of what we do. And the degree of his proximity to that shadow is something that we’ll discover. But he is very much a part of the show emotionally for Obi-Wan, and possibly beyond that as well.”

RELEASE

After Kathleen Kennedy teased us with the news that Vader will confront Obi-Wan not once, but twice in the all-new limited series; our excitement levels are already through the roof. But after yesterday’s trailer that featured several Inquisitors, our first look at Owen Lars, and Ewan McGregor back in his Jedi robes for the first time since 2005; you can pretty much dial that to eleven!

Just how intense their encounter will be is anyone’s guess. But given the ferocity of their last encounter and the emotional weight of their final duel, I think we can all look forward to a landmark series on Disney Plus. And that alone makes this series the must-see event of the year.

Obi-Wan Kenobi crosses paths with Darth Vader once again from May 25 only on Disney Plus.
