Disney Plus has released a new special for Star Wars Day exploring the return of Boba Fett. Disney Gallery: The Book Of Boba Fett is streaming now!
It was the series four decades in the making, and now Disney Gallery is exploring The Book Of Boba Fett. In celebration of Star Wars Day, Disney Plus has released an all-new one-hour behind-the-scenes special exploring the legendary bounty hunter’s return. The insightful special features the cast, crew, and filmmakers as they take us through the process of bringing the series to the screen.
The episode boasts a wealth of previously unseen footage; an exploration of the groundbreaking technology used in the show, and the practical effects used to bring the series to life. And without a doubt is a wonderful exploration of what was another fantastic series from Jon Favreau’s creative genius. Explore the trailer below:
LEGENDS RETURN
If the return of Boba Fett isn’t enough to have you planning your return to the galaxy far, far away, this one-off special also takes a closer look at the return of Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker. In the series, Hamill and actor Graham Hamilton portray the digitally de-aged Luke Skywalker as the Jedi Knight begins to train Grogu in the days of the Force. It was a landmark moment for the series and it pushed the boundaries of what “deepfake” technology could achieve. An achievement not lost on the Star Wars icon.
“It’s a process that’s new to both of us, so we’re just trying to give the filmmakers everything they need,” Hamill says in Disney Gallery: The Book of Boba Fett. “I’ve done all aspects — theater, radio, television, movies — each one of them has its specific requirements. But this is a completely new aspect. With this, it’s a composite performance. Not just from the stunt double, but input from the director and what’s on the page, all of these elements coming together, so that it’s an ongoing learning experience.”
