Marvel Studios has created a formula with their television series which uses their penultimate episodes as the ultimate answer to most, if not all, your questions. Ms. Marvel was no exception.

The beginning of this episode lets you know you’re in for an intriguing ride but I still wasn’t quite prepared for what was about to happen. Despite being the shortest episode of the series so far the episode did a wonderful job filling in every section of the story in a purposeful way. Some moments feel a bit rushed but overall I was very impressed.

UNIQUE STORY

I’ve seen many superhero origin stories. But none quite as unique as Ms. Marvel’s story. There is so much love that has gone into this show that you can feel it through the screen. Including Kamala’s family as the true backbone and origin of Ms. Marvel’s powers is utterly fascinating and beautiful. I understand that some people are loyal to the original comic origin of her powers but this interpretation is perfect, in my humble opinion.

I’m already imagining Kamala Khan alongside Carol Danvers and Monica Rambeau in The Marvels. And the power of that team-up is honestly one of the most exciting things to happen to this franchise. The MCU has embraced diversity as its own kind of superpower. And this show is just slapping me in the face with incredible cultural representation.

FINALE HOPES

Another great thing about this episode is it answered so many questions that there honestly isn’t much for the finale to do. Kamala is going to get her outfit. Check. I’m assuming she’s going to have a face-off with the DODC (Department of Damage Control) at some point. Something will happen where society will view her as a hero and the DODC will have to stop harassing her. And the show is going to end with a post-credit scene featuring Captain Marvel because it has to right?!

All in all, this has undoubtedly been one of the best MCU Disney+ series and I can’t wait to see Kamala’s story continue in the coming years. Oh, and it’s Thor: Love and Thunder week on top of everything. Ah, the joy of being a Marvel fan.
