Look out Ray Harryhausen fans because the Homunculus from The Golden Voyage Of Sinbad is joining the Star Ace Toys X-Plus collection.
Beware of Prince Koura’s minions Ray Harryhausen fans because Star Ace Toys is heading back to Lemuria. After unveiling another glorious statue of the Centaur from Ray Harryhausen’s The Golden Voyage Of Sinbad, the toy giant has turned its attention to the Homunculus. In the film, the gargoyle-like Homunculus serves Prince Koura as one of his bewitched spies. That is until the creature destroys itself after being discovered.
THE STATUE
The Homunculus is one of Ray Harryhausen’s finest creations. And now, Star Ace Toys has recreated its majesty in its latest creation. The 11.8″ tall statue features the creature poised in a crouching position and comes complete with a diorama base. And if that isn’t enough to have you searching for the fountain of youth, Star Ace is releasing multiple versions. There’s a Normal Version and a Deluxe Version. With the Deluxe Version, fans will receive a display base featuring the golden amulet from the film. Read on for the full details.
RAY HARRYHAUSEN’S HOMUNCULUS
The Homunculus is a small creature created by an evil sorcerer to do his bidding. It’s vaguely human-shaped with batlike wings and a gargoyle face. The tiny demon acts as a spy for the villain, reporting on the hero’s actions and trying to thwart them at every turn.
Star Ace has recreated the Homunculus that Ray Harryhausen brought to the screen. Sculpted by the artisans at Kaibutsuya, this polyresin statue is approximately 30cm tall with a wingspan of 32cm.
The Deluxe version of the statue comes with a polyresin diorama base featuring the magic golden amulet.
