The laughing stocks are on the increase because Todd Phillips has shared our first look at Joaquin Phoenix’s return in Joker: Folie à Deux
It’s been a minute since we heard anything new about Todd Phillips’ upcoming sequel Joker: Folie à Deux. Last we heard, the director announced the casting of Lady Gaga, yes, that LADY GAGA as Harley Quinn alongside the returning Joaquin Phoenix. But aside from some juicy artwork, there has been little movement on the project at DC Studios. Until now.
Thankfully, all that is about to change because Todd Phillips has taken to social media to announce that his film has finally entered production. What’s more, the director has shared our first look at the film, and as expected, it features Joaquin Phoenix back in the saddle as the Joker! The still shows Arthur Fleck (Joker) being shaved while still incarcerated in Arkham Asylum. Check it out below.
THE LAST LAUGH
It is a joy to see Joaquin Phoenix back in his career-defining role. The original Joker was a breathtaking variation of the legendary clown prince of crime and it dragged us, kicking and screaming down the rabbit hole of mental health. And the result was nothing short of spectacular. So, the sequel is already shaping up to be something truly special.

CAST
Joining Phoenix and Lady Gaga in Joker: Folie à Deux is Catherine Keener, Brendan Gleeson, Jacob Lofland, and Harry Lawtey. Zazie Beetz will also reprise her role as Sophie from the first film.
Joker: Folie à Deux will raise the laughing stocks in cinemas on October 4, 2024. Are you excited about the sequel? What are you hoping to see from Mr. J? Sound off below.
