RuPaul's Drag Race

The fifteenth season of the ground-breaking competition reality show, RUPAUL’S DRAG RACE, has crowned America’s Next Drag Superstar! Filmed live at the Ace Hotel Theatre in Los Angeles, RuPaul ruled that Sasha Colby reigned supreme and was crowned the 15th in-season winner of the hit phenomenon. The finale, produced by global media agency World of Wonder (WOW) and MTV Entertainment Studios, aired on 15th April 2023 here in the UK exclusively on WOW’s owned streaming platform, WOW Presents Plus.

Channeling a surplus of Charisma, Uniqueness, Nerve, and Talent, Colby proved she had it all in Saturday’s finale that dropped at 2 am in the UK on WOW Presents Plus. Each of the finalists was put to the ultimate test as they battled to impress the judges; most importantly, the mother of all drag queens, RuPaul. Mama Ru narrowed it down to two contestants who lip-synced for the crown.

The final performance between runner-up, Anetra, and our new winner was a jaw-dropping performance of Knock on Wood by Amii Stewart. It all came down to Ru’s decision in the end, and ultimately, Sasha Colby was crowned. She takes home the biggest cash prize in Drag Race herstory, a staggering $200,000, served by Cash App.

SASHA COLBY

Sasha Colby, newly crowned winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race S15 said, “This goes to every trans person – past, present, and future – because we are not going anywhere!”

Earlier in the finale, Sasha reflected on her Drag Race Season 15 journey, saying: “The best part has actually been meeting all the fans of Drag Race, and their parents, who honestly come up to me all over the place, and are not only accepting, but celebratory of drag.”

RUPAUL’S DRAG RACE SEASON 15

Season 15 of the show-stopping competition reality series, produced by the multi-award-winning media agency World of Wonder, has once again provided a season filled with twists, turns, iconic cameos, stellar casting, and gag-worthy lewks. It also celebrated a huge milestone with the series 200th episode. We’ve learned how to “walk that f****** duck”, how to jump rope with a wig, that twins doing drag is iconic (and fabulously chaotic), and how to “Let Loose” like Loosey LaDuca. But overall, Sasha Colby has proved that she is highly deserving of the crown. Known worldwide for her memorable reign as Miss Continental 2012, as well as RuPaul’s Drag Race S14 contestant Kerri Colby’s drag mother, Sasha is a queen to be reckoned with. This Hawaiian-born goddess has been slaying drag stages for 20 years, so she had to live up to her legendary reputation while competing on the show. Serving body, beauty, and bodacious all-around talent, Sasha is fierce. Officially.

Season 15’s eliminated contestants and additional finalists Anetra, Luxx Noir London, Mistress Isabelle Brooks, Loosey LaDuca, Salina EsTitties, Marcia Marcia Marcia, Malaysia Babydoll Foxx, Spice, Jax, Aura Mayari, Robin Fierce, Amethyst, Sugar, Princess Poppy, and Irene Dubois all returned for the final episode and ultimate coronation. Alongside the announcement of this season’s winner, the highly coveted ‘Miss Congeniality’  title was announced. Voted by the Season 15 queens, the title was awarded to Malaysia Babydoll Foxx, winning a cash prize of $10,000, sponsored by Olay Body.
