NEW RELEASES

Kicking the month off in style on the 4th is the latest episode from the gripping new series Slasher: Ripper, a retro 19th-century period slasher. One that follows a Jack the Ripper copycat serial killer as he/she preys upon the rich and powerful citizens of London. Episode 6 drops on the 4th before the two-part season finale brings the series to its climax on the 11th. Next up, we have the chilling original movie Huesera: The Bone Woman. An unnerving exploration of a pregnancy gone very wrong! And rounding out May’s big releases on the 26th is Influencer – a chilling story about a backpacker that falls in with the worst kind of people. With terrifying results!

And these new releases are just the tip of the knife. There is a wealth of horror goodness heading to the streamer throughout the month. Including the original all-time classic The Wicker Man starring screen legend Christopher Lee. But don’t take my word for it. Grab the arm of your chair; move to the edge of your seat, and grab the cushions because Shudder’s May horror watchlist is the gift that keeps on giving…jump scares!

Slasher: Ripper. A Shudder Original – Streaming Exclusively on Shudder and AMC+

Slasher: Ripper takes the Slasher franchise back in time to the late 19th century and stars Eric McCormack (Will & Grace) as Basil Garvey, a charismatic tycoon whose success is only rivaled by his ruthlessness, as he oversees a city on the cusp of a new century, and a social upheaval that will see its streets run red with blood. There’s a killer stalking the mean streets, but instead of targeting the poor and downtrodden like Jack the Ripper, The Widow is meting out justice against the rich and powerful. The only person standing in the way of this killer is the newly promoted detective, Kenneth Rijkers, whose ironclad belief in justice may wind up being yet another victim of The Widow.
