Meg 2: The Trench will be swimming into theatres this August. Are you ready to dive in for seconds? It’s almost time to take another bite!
One of the summer movies we are all looking forward to in FOTF Towers is Meg 2: The Trench. We had fun with the first movie, despite it being a VERY loose adaptation of the Steve Alten novel. And the sequel looks to be in the same vein. (Read our Chief Editor’s report here.) But we all enjoy a good old-fashioned giant killer shark movie!
We’ve already had the first trailer for the film debut a few weeks back. And now the small mini-trailers have started to emerge from the deep blue sea. These new looks at the monster sequel give us a sense of what awaits us when the film opens on August 4th. It looks like we are getting frights, laughs, lots of death, and some genuinely exciting moments.
PREMISE
Jonas Taylor leads a research team on an exploratory dive into the deepest depths of the ocean. Their voyage spirals into chaos when a malevolent mining operation threatens their mission and forces them into a high-stakes battle for survival. Pitted against colossal, prehistoric sharks and relentless environmental plunderers, they must outrun, outsmart and outswim their merciless predators.

It’ll be unsafe to get back in the water this August when Meg 2: The Trench surfaces in theatres.
