Get your first look at the new Toho Godzilla figure from S.H. MonsterArts’ Godzilla Minus One line
S.H. MonsterArts has given us a sneak peek at their new Toho Godzilla action figure. With the famous King of the Monsters making his big-screen comeback in December, Tamashii Nations is delivering the mother of all action figures. The toy company has designed a brand-new action figure inspired by his look in the upcoming movie Godzilla Minus One which releases in December.
The 6.3″ figure features all of the articulation you’d expect from the S.H. MonsterArts series and adds in a few new movable parts. For the first time, the team refined their work and added individually articulated toes for additional posing options. But don’t take my word for it. Scroll down and check out the teaser images below.
RELEASE
Tamashii Nations has penciled in a release date of November for the figurine. And pre-orders will be available from July 18th. So thankfully, the wait to add Godzilla to our respective collection shelves won’t be too arduous. Expect the figure to set you back 14,850 Yen (roughly $107). A monstrous price tag to be sure. But it’s got to be worth it for a Zilla figure as impressive as this!
MINUS ONE
Written and directed by Takashi Yamazaki, the early plot descriptions suggest the story “will see an already devastated postwar Japan facing a new threat in the form of Godzilla.” Minus One will be Toho’s first effort since Shin Godzilla. The 2016 monster hit was made all the more spectacular by the special effects of Takashi Yamazaki. And Toho has tasked the filmmaker with bringing the new movie to our screens. It comes at a time when the Big Z is more popular with audiences than ever before. For the most part, that can be attributed to his stint in Legendary’s MonsterVerse, which Zilla shares with King Kong. But with Toho as the driving force behind the new project, monster fans will be salivating at the prospect. To learn more about Godzilla’s latest adventure click here.
